What started off as a simple coffee shop opened by Gabby Higgins in Mid Town, Baton Rouge on September 11, 2004 has now turned into a local favorite. So, buckle your seatbelts ladies and gentlemen! You’re about to meet one of the most determined, strong-willed and charismatic women working in Baton Rouge’s businesses. Gabby sat down with us to talk new upcoming plans, the benefits of hard work in the business and most importantly...cake balls. When Gabby opened the coffee shop she was determined to find a catchy name that was suitable for her business. After going through the options she came to the conclusion that Brew Ha-Ha was the perfect fit, and indeed it was. Locals from all over the city travel to Brew for a good cup of coffee, conversation, art and can I say it again? Cake balls. As said by Gabby “we are known for our cake balls, they really put us on the map.” The loyal employees Gabby likes to call “Bots” have really helped establish the wonderful reputation this shop has. Gabby’s love for her store showed throughout the entire interview with her winning smile and dedication. Congratulations to Gabby on her achievement of creating one of the most loved coffee spots in all of Baton Rouge. It truly is a gem.
